Friends of Puss Bank School organise fund raising events for the school to raise funds for things that school itself cannot provide.
Our projects this year include new outside seating and markings in the nursery quad, e-readers for each year and a contribution towards the cost of an outdoor stage.
Last year we contributed towards the cost of the makeover of the junior quad which is being enjoyed by all pupils in better weather whilst continuing our commitment to the Bb band through professional music tuition for all year 5 pupils.
Over the years we have provided two low level adventure playgrounds, a lighting and sound system for the Junior Hall, orienteering equipment, nursery bicycles, new curtains for both the infant and junior halls, overhead projectors, computer software, cameras, radio-controlled clocks, cookers, thousands of pounds spent on books for both KS1 and KS2 libraries and equipment and school council badges and charts.
Annually we run three school discos, a Christmas raffle, and an aerobathon, a successful Christmas Fair and our Summer Fair in early July. Lastly, we pay for the Year 6 leavers disco and BBQ, and keep the behaviour awards box full of prizes. We meet regularly to review recent events and make arrangements for forthcoming events, and all new members are welcomed.
How to become involved - Information about the next meeting is always posted on the "Friends" external notice boards. We also produce a newsletter (which goes home with every child) in which we include details of the next meeting. You are very welcome to call the school office on 01625 384384 and leave a message and one of the Committee will contact you, please also take a look at the Who and What page. We also now have an email address that you can contact us on: firstname.lastname@example.org
