Summer Term

In the Summer Term our topic will be focused on the Ancient Egyptians!

We will be reading a text called Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx in our English learning and build on our adventure story writing skills. We will be recapping how to use expanded noun phrases and adjectives in our writing aswell as using direct speech. 

In Maths we will be recapping addition and subtraction aswell as exploring money, time and statistics. 

We will be learning all about sound in Science and linking this to our Computing learning on sequencing sounds. 

In Art we will be developing our drawing and sketching skills whilst exploring Art that Ancient Egyptians would have made. We will also be exploring some simple sewing skills in Design and Technology and learn about the clothing Egyptians wore.

Of course our History learning will be all about the Egyptians! We will be linking in Geography and explore the human and physical features of the continent Africa. 

There are more wonderful activities we will be taking part in alongside this learning this term such as Forest School and Lego Team Building, there is more information on our summer term curriculum letter.
